Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween to all! We took Logan to our ward's trunk or treat last night. He was the cutest pumpkin ever!

Fall Hike

Bittersweet

We took the next step with Logan on Monday and moved him from the bassinet beside our bed to the crib in his room... (sniff, sniff). He seems to like it though, he definitely needed the extra room! It's so hard to believe that he's almost 3 months old! I love making him smile and talk/screech. He sounds like a little pterodactyl most of the time so I've nicknamed him Petrie (he's the pterodactyl from The Land Before Time movie).

Going Green Dilema

Since we have a baby who loves to poop at an explosive (no exaggeration) speed this inevitably causes said poop to find its way out of the diaper, causing a new change of clothes and a pile of dirty ones soaking in the sink with Shout. Well we've worked our way through one bottle of Shout and while shopping for a replacement I decided to 'go a little green' and opted for the Nature's Way bottle (Shout's green, all-natural brand). So far, every onsie I've soaked in NW has come out of the dryer with the stain still present! What the crap --literally! I have tried to do my part for the environment but it just doesn't do as good a job as the chemically enhanced product! So I'm going back to Shout with the resolution that all-natural cleaning products just don't make the cut in my house.
...Here are some recent pics of Loggy...poop free!

Prayer

I taught my first Relief Society lesson yesterday and was feeling highly inadequate and extremely nervous. I had plenty of time to prepare for the lesson so there were countless prayers said which involved a lot of pleading on my part for Heavenly Father to bless me with the ability to teach the sisters the message he had in store. Knowing myself, and how I'm not very good with off-the-cuff discussions... I had prepared the lesson on lined paper, spelling out exactly what I was going to say. I was completely shocked when the spirit prompted me throughout the lesson... so much so that I hardly had to reference my "script". I even pulled out personal experiences that hadn't occurred to me while preparing the lesson! Also, a good hint for anyone else who might have to experience this... start out by distributing chocolate... it's a good distraction! I'm so grateful for the power of prayer and the blessing of His spirit to guide and direct me. While planning the lesson, one of my favorite quotes from President Monson kept popping into my mind... just thought I'd share... "Do not pray for tasks equal to your abilities, but pray for abilities equal to your tasks. Then the performance of your tasks will be no miracle, but you will be the miracle."

visitor

Last Saturday I flew to Phoenix (left Logan with Dan) to purchase a new car. I love the car but was not looking forward to the 12+ hour drive home on Sunday, alone. We tried to get Carl to come back with me but he had to work so Duncan came instead. Although he couldn't help with the driving he was very good at helping me stay awake! We tried to play this movie-line game where you say a line/phrase from a movie and the other person has to guess what movie it's from and apparently I am no good at remembering lines from movies or the movies themselves! Then we tried to find a Subway to eat dinner and one of them was closed (totally unexpected for 6pm on a Sunday) and the other one was miles from the interstate so we had to settle for less-healthy fast food:( It was great to have Dunc visit though. We found him a great snowboarding coat and enjoyed the beautiful fall weather on a walk at Fox Run Park. Fall is beautiful in Colorado for anyone who'd like to visit!!
