This year for Christmas, we were fortunate to drive safely to and from Jackson Hole, WY to spend Christmas with my sister, Becky, and brother-in-law, Eric. We had a blast with them and not only is Jackson beautiful in the spring, summer, and fall, but in the winter too! We played in the snow a lot and had fun sledding down their driveway! Diesel makes a great sled dog... he pulled until he was running and we were flying! He also enjoyed playing with his cousin, Mika the Malamute! Unfortunately, she did not live up to her breed and would only pull a little until Diesel was beside her... we were counting on her strength to give us record speed! Of course, we had to have a race and the winner was.........(drum roll please)........ Becky! We blammed it on the fact that she had Baby Wilcox weighing down the front of the sleigh! All in all it was a great Christmas and we feel so blessed to have spent it with family!

Thanksgiving 2007
This year we spent Thanksgiving by ourselves. It was different, but fun! I made my first Thanksgiving turkey, and as you can see, it was scrumptious! Dan helped with the cooking but eating was his favorite part. We had fun putting up the Christmas decorations and watching football! We hope everyone else had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Okay, here are more pictures from my weekend with the fam. Our time together was packed with fun events. We had a Bunko party the first night, then some of us ran a 5K race the next morning. Sofa and Aunt Kristie won 3rd place for their age groups!! I got 5th, not bad for my first race! There were over 3,000 people there so it was a little crowded! After the race we had a picnic lunch and played a game of baseball... Grandpa did really well! Since we can't get together for the holidays, we celebrated Thanksgiving and Christmas early. All in all, it was a great weekend with yummy food, gift giving, oh, and the auction! Every Thanksgiving we have a family auction with items each person provides, either homemade or store bought, then with the money from the auction we go do something fun as a family. This year we raked in over $400, thanks to Grandma Mom and Grandpa Boppie!! But my favorite piece was a painting my dad did of a Bald Eagle, I threw in the picture of it. It was so neat! I really wanted it, but couldn't afford to keep bidding... maybe someday he'll paint his own daughter a picture!!!

Crazy Colorado Weather
My parents and little brother came to visit last weekend and it was a blast! On Saturday we enjoyed the 75 degree sunshine during another Air Force game and went hiking in Garden of the Gods. Then Duncan woke us up at 7 o'clock Sunday morning to 3 inches of snow!! It was our first snowfall this year and we LOVED it! There were snowball fights, loads of wrestling, building Teddy the snow bear, and laughing at Diesel as he carried snowballs around in his mouth! The next day it all melted and we're back to fall temperatures now! The weather is sporatic, but it's nice to get a taste of everything instead of just heat, heat, and more heat!

The Broncos Won!
After watching the Broncos beat the Raiders we celebrated by playing a little game of catch with Diesel. He loves chasing the football while it bounces all over!

Play Time
Air Force Academy Football Game
We went to our first AFA Football game! It was so much fun! We beat South Carolina! Our mascot is a live Falcon that they had fly around the stadium during half-time! And after each touchdown and field goal the freshman cadets would run out to the field and do as many push-ups as they had points! Look out, looks like we're the next up-and-coming Falcon fans!

Royal Gorge Bridge
yesterday we drove to canon city to see the royal gorge bridge. it's the highest suspension bridge in the world. with a little hesitation and a self-induced reminder not to look down, we walked across! we also took an aerial tram across the gorge which was 1,176 feet above the arkansas river! our next journey will be to conquer the river rapids by raft!
this is the view looking down from the bridge.
